What Is a Coffee Cupping Score?
Coffee professionals have traditionally used a 100-point cupping scale to evaluate a coffee's aroma, flavor, acidity, body, balance, and overall quality.
A score of 80 or above has long been the benchmark for specialty-grade coffee.
We believe great coffee begins with carefully selected beans and comes to life through fresh, made-to-order roasting.
At Rhinestone Coffee Roasters, we're proud to offer coffees with cupping scores of 80 or above, meeting the traditional benchmark for specialty-grade coffee.

Origin: Cuchumatán, Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Elevation: 1,400–1,600 meters above sea level (MASL)
Processing Method: Washed

Producer: ACODIHUE Cooperative — Manos de Mujer
Impact: Living Income Priced
A Coffee Grown by Women, Rooted in Tradition
High in the mountains of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, near the Mexican border, an extraordinary group of indigenous women is cultivating more than exceptional coffee. They are building independence, strengthening their families, and preserving generations of coffee-growing tradition.
Guatemala Manos de Mujer comes from the ACODIHUE cooperative, where women producers own and work their land. The cooperative established the Manos de Mujer designation, meaning Women's Hands, to recognize their contributions to their households, communities, and the Guatemalan economy.
Only approximately 22% of ACODIHUE's annual coffee production earns this designation, representing a carefully selected portion of the cooperative's harvest.
The Flavor Experience
Bing Cherry • Nougat • Almond Brittle
A delightful combination of fruit-inspired sweetness and comforting confectionery notes.
Bing cherry brings a bright, inviting fruit character, while nougat contributes a smooth, sweet impression. Almond brittle rounds out the experience with a delicious nutty, caramelized-sugar quality.
Together, these tasting notes create a distinctive coffee worth savoring.
Grown in the Guatemalan Highlands
Cultivated at elevations of 1,400–1,600 meters above sea level, with an average growing altitude of approximately 1,500 meters, this coffee comes from a mountainous region with a rich agricultural heritage.
The cherries are carefully handpicked during a harvest season that begins shortly after Christmas and continues until nearly Easter.
Traditional varieties, including Bourbon and Caturra, contribute to the character of this highland coffee.
The washed processing method helps highlight the coffee's individual flavor qualities.

MEXICO • CHIAPAS
Roasted Walnut • Cocoa • Bright Citrus
Meet the Coffee
From the lush coffee-growing region of Chiapas in southern Mexico comes a beautifully balanced Arabica with the kind of character we love to roast.
Grown by smallholder coffee farmers throughout the Chiapas communities, these beans are primarily Typica and Bourbon varieties, cultivated at elevations of approximately 900–1,250 meters. The coffee is washed processed, helping create a clean, smooth cup that lets its natural flavors shine.
In the cup, look for the comforting richness of roasted walnut and cocoa, finished with just enough citrus brightness to keep things lively. It's smooth, familiar, and wonderfully drinkable—the sort of coffee that feels right at home in your favorite mug.
From Chiapas to Palisade
Chiapas is Mexico's leading coffee-producing region, where generations of farming families grow coffee among mountains, volcanic soils, and an incredible range of microclimates.
We bring those green beans home to Palisade, Colorado, where we roast them fresh in small batches and with intention.
